About Us
 Everywhere Chair started as a family business selling our handmade chairs at craft shows in 1990 and continues today as a family business, although our product line has greatly enlarged. We are located in the mountains of Western North Carolina in the small town of Burnsville. My name is Jim Ludwig and, together with my wife, Mary Sheldon, own and operate Everywhere Chair LLC. Our Office Manager, Jennifer Pool, is in charge of processing your order and heads up Customer Service.
EverywhereChair.com started in 2000 with a store built on BigStep.com, one of the first ecommerce platforms. Feeling a need for a more functional and secure store, Everywhere Chair moved to the Yahoo Store platform in 2001 with a professionally designed store and an increasing number of products. We redesigned our site in 2009, adding features like Product Reviews, Order Status, and more. We always welcome your comments on how we can improve. Please send us your comments on what you think!
In September 2008, we moved into our newly constructed 7000 square foot warehouse, pictured below. We now have plenty of warehouse space to stock more products, and better serve our customers. This is also where we process and ship your order. We are excited to be growing, yet still keep our small family business service and atmosphere.

Our family includes two children: Sarah is 19 and Alex is 16, We are blessed to live in the beautiful western North Carolina mountains in Yancey county, home to Mt. Mitchell, tallest peak east of the Mississippi. I, Jim, was drawn here because of the beauty but also the self sufficient spirit of the local people. I have always been an independent sort, so it was natural to design and build a home that is passive solar and off the grid using hydro and photovoltaics. I am happy to answer any questions about Renewable Energy on a home scale. Mary came to the mountains when she married Jim, and handles all of our accounting as well as helps out with customer service.
We strive to offer you, the customer, superior and unique products and service. The kids help around the office and warehouse - sorting orders, entering inventory, breaking down boxes, and about anything else that needs doing. When you call, you will speak with one of us personally.
