About Us
Everywhere Chair started as a family business selling our handmade chairs at craft shows in 1990 and continues today as a family business, although our product line has greatly enlarged. My name is Jim Ludwig, and together with my wife, Mary Sheldon, own and operate Everywhere Chair LLC. I started the online business in 2000 with a store I built myself on BigStep.com, one of the first ecommerce platforms. Feeling a need for a more attractive and functional store, Everywhere Chair moved to the Yahoo Store platform in 2001 with a professionally designed store and an increasing number of products.
Presently, we operate out of a 3000 square foot building in downtown Burnsville, NC with two employees. We acquired 26 acres of commercial property close by in September 2007 and will be building a 7000 square foot office/store/warehouse to be ready in Spring 2008. We are excited to be growing, yet still keep our small family business service and atmosphere.
Personal Notes
Our family includes two children: Sarah is 15 and Alex is 11, We are blessed to live in the beautiful western North Carolina mountains in the most beautiful Yancey county. I was drawn here because of certainly the beauty but also the self sufficient spirit of the local people. I have always been an independent sort, so it was natural to design and build a home that is passive solar and off the grid using hydro and photovoltaics. I am happy to answer any questions about Renewable Energy on a home scale.

Check Availability in order box to see when item will ship. You will receive an Order Confimation email detailing your order and to let you know we received it. After shipment or whenever the shipment status changes, you will receive an e-mail noting the change. There is always a slight possibility that the exact item you requested is temporarily out of stock. In that case we contact you immediately and give you the option to substitute, wait till our next shipment arrives, or simply cancel.
